The small plot for this house is surrounded by dense low rise neighbors with existing parent's house in the front and a restored peaceful house which turn to be a museum.We sought to protect the house from the outside and create its own private inside view which consist of koi pond and garden.
On the exterior, solid wall and sunscreen being used to intensify the aforementioned privacy.The living and dining area have double height space in order to create the visual connection between the floors.
With sustainability as the main idea, the use of reused timber plank from the tear down house adds a sense of nostalgia to the space, additionally, this would also have many environmental economical befits.
Apart from reused timber plank, this house also use grey water to water the garden and photovoltaic panels to generate electricity.
The openings and transparent facade permit for natural ventilation and lighting into the space, this results in a comfortable internal environment through passive cooling.
